Love and Donuts: A Match Made in Dunkin’


How do you celebrate love in a truly unique way? Not by following the usual path, and certainly not by playing it safe. That’s why our team helped a Dunkin’ in Oklahoma create an unforgettable drive-thru wedding for their General Manager, Sugar Good-Thompson, and her husband, John Thompson.

On Tuesday, October 13, 2020, our team helped Dunkin’ transform the location at 3201 S Broadway in Edmond, OK—where the couple first met in 2017—into a special wedding venue. The bride and groom exchanged vows through the drive-thru window, surrounded by Dunkin’-themed wedding decorations, a wedding cake and bouquet made of Dunkin’ donuts, and a "Just Married" truck banner. To share the joy with the community, Dunkin’ offered all guests a free Glazed or Maple Glazed donut, the couple’s favorite treats. Since this was during the height of the COVID-19 epidemic, we made sure social distancing measures and safety precautions were in place, and made sure that this creative celebration marked a sweet new chapter in their love story.

AMP got the buzz going for this Dunkin' Love by distributing media alerts, coordinating on-site photos and interviews, and sharing post-event coverage. The story exploded beyond Oklahoma City, reaching international and national outlets. The result? An estimated public relations value of $32M+ and over 1.3 billion in estimated media impressions.
